The government aims to provide €1bn in subsidies to new renewable energy sources by 2030, reckons Deputy Economy Minister Karol Galek. The subsidies will be financed from the EU Recovery Fund and cohesion EU funds and will not increase power prices. Previously, subsidies for the photovoltaic power plants (PPP) were funded via power prices. Slovakia pledged to increase the share of renewables in its total energy from the current 22% to 27% in 2030.
