Wood & Co plans to invest €600m in five new waste incinerators
Local group Wood & Company plans to build five new waste incinerators in Slovakia by 2035. The €600m investment aspires to completely replace waste landfills, where 60% of the municipal waste currently ends. The investment should be carried out by the company called ewia and the first incinerator should be up and running in 2025. Each of the five facilities should have a capacity of 130,000 tons annually. The company is not seeking EU or state subsidies and the incinerators will be financed by waste disposal fees and the sale of heat and power.
