PSA is working overtime while VW is cutting production
Thanks to high demand for the new Peugeot 208 model, the Trnava car plant of PSA is running at full capacity and its employees are working overtime. Some suppliers are unable to keep pace, and lack of some parts hampers production. The plant plans to increase production from last year’s 352,000 to 370,000 vehicles this year.
In contrast, the Bratislava Volkswagen plant faces low demand for some of its models and was forced to cancel several work shifts in recent weeks. The plant would not comment on its production levels.
