Cartels in healthcare
PMÚ, the anti-trust authority, launched a probe into a possible cartel among large drug distributors. It raided the offices of unspecified firms last autumn. It says that according to preliminary information, at least two firms coordinated bids in public tenders, rigged prices, divided up the market and customers, and exchanged sensitive information. This is a so-called heavy cartel, an agreement between direct competitors.
Earlier this year, PMÚ launched a probe into another possible cartel in the field of medical laboratories.
