Companies drive up heat pump sales in Slovakia
Sales of heat pumps in Slovakia have risen from 13,800 in 2022 to 14,500 last year, according to data from the SZCKTČ association. The growth was driven by companies that are increasingly using air-to-air pumps for heating and cooling. Their sales jumped from 1,400 to 7,400. In contrast, sales of air-to-water pumps, which are used by households, are down from 12,100 to 7,000. Businesses, unlike households, do not have subsidized energy prices, which motivates them to invest in energy savings.
EU heat pump sales fell from 2.8m to 2m in 2022-24.
