Dôvera and Union are suing the Health Ministry for categorization of a cancer drug, Keytruda
Private health insurers Dôvera and Union are suing the Health Ministry for what they see as the illegal categorization of a cancer drug, Keytruda (Merck) for €6.7m and €1.3m respectively. The categorization, a decision to reimburse the drug from health insurance, took place in 2018. Union has already won its case, as the Ministry offered no defense, for undisclosed reasons. The Ministry is defending against Dôvera’s case, and the courts have not yet ruled. Dôvera is not opposed to the reimbursement of this medicine. However, it maintains that the categorization must be transparent and follow established rules.
