Environment Ministry proposes subsidies for purchase of electric cars
The Environment Policy Institute at the Environment Ministry proposes allocating €10-15m annually to subsidies for the purchase of an electric car. For cars costing up to €35,000, the subsidy should be €6,000 next year and gradually fall to €1,250 in 2028. For more expensive cars, it should be half that. The institute estimates that the difference in price between an electric car and a combustion-powered car is €15,400. The proposed subsidy corresponds to the level in the 21 EU countries that apply them.
