During a probe into poaching, the police accidentally recorded recent meetings between Robert Fico, Robert Kaliňák (both Smer), Marek Para (Marian Kočner’s lawyer), son of ex-Police Chief Tibor Gašpar, and oligarch Miroslav Bödör (his son Norbert faces several corruption charges) at a hunting lodge near Levice. They discussed in detail the current corruption cases and legal as well as PR strategies on how to influence the probes and discredit policemen and prosecutors. Media published videos of Gašpar and Para advising Kaliňák on how to testify. Prosecutors say this looks like witness tampering and the obstruction of justice.
Fico explains that he is meeting with the defenders of innocent people.
