Frozen food producer Minit increased sales 60% last year
Frozen food producer Minit (Ambrovics family) doubled its net profit to €1.8m last year and its sales soared 60% to €42.8m. Deliveries to shops and restaurants accounted for €22m and exports brought in €13m (of which Czechia accounted for €9m). Small franchise stores brought in the rest. In 2018, its production plant was destroyed by fire (production was resumed in several months) and in recent weeks it launched a new €10m plant in Kostolné Kračany. Meanwhile, the existing plant in Dunajská Streda continues production. The plan is to increase production from the current 1,200 to 1,700 tons per month. At the end of last year Minit employed 352 people and the new plant created 100 jobs.
Besides Minit, the Ambrovics family also owns the Ambropek bakery, with last year's sales of €10.5m and a net profit of €1.4m.
