The government will provide a targeted assistance to companies hit by the pandemic and unable to apply for assistance from existing schemes, said PM Eduard Heger (OĽaNO). He would not specify its volume or timeline. Only companies in need should get the assistance, and this will not be helicopter money. The new assistance scheme will be prepared by the Finance Ministry (minister Igor Matovič; OĽaNO) and not the Economy Ministry (Richard Sulík; SaS), which has already prepared its own draft scheme. The money won’t be sent by the Labor Ministry (Milan Krajniak; Sme rodina), but by the tax authority FS. Heger says the Finance Ministry has its own quality proposals and apparatus able to process the assistance.
