Gotion to lauch construction of its Slovak plant in April

The construction of an electric car battery plant by the Chinese company Gotion in Šurany will start in April, said PM Robert Fico after a meeting with the investor’s representatives. Next week, the government will earmark the investment as strategic to speed up the permitting process. Fico emphasized that Slovakia needs the investment, which is being protested against by local residents and the political parties KDH and Republika. The government has already approved a €214m stimulus for the €1.2bn investment.
