Government approved plans for new 1,200 MW nuclear power units
The government approved plans for new 1,200 MW nuclear power units in Jaslovské Bohunice with an expected cost of €10bn. The company in charge of construction will be 100% state-owned. The government plans to launch the tender for the contractor next year and complete it in 2027. Other procedures are also possible; e.g., Slovakia could conclude an agreement with another government. The first fuel load is scheduled for 2038 and full operation in 2040. The source of funding has not yet been identified.
