Government intends to develop relations with China

The government intends to develop relations with China, which is, for example, interested in financing a new power plant on the Ipeľ river, PM Robert Fico said. He plans to visit China in early November. Currently, the ministers of finance and economy, Ladislav Kamenický and Denisa Saková, are in China. They visited Gotion, which plans to build a battery factory in Šurany. Another communist country that Fico is planning to visit is Vietnam. At the end of September he will be in South Korea to discuss potential cooperation in building a new nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice.

The opposition KDH party warns against close relations with China, about which the government provides very little information. Many other countries have found in the recent past that cooperation with totalitarian regimes undermines economic security.
