GymBeam enjoys the pandemic
GymBeam, an online store with nutritional supplements and fitness clothing controlled by Dalibor Cicman, became the market leader in the CEE region thanks to doubling its sales to €40m last year. It increased staff in its Košice HQ by 100 to 230. The growth came despite the pandemic that closed gyms as demand soared for home exercise goods. It has added 1,800 items to its portfolio, also thanks to a €6m capital injection by Crowdberry investors and the state-owned Slovak Investment Holding. It spent the money on warehouse automation and premises in Budapest and Prague. Slovakia accounts for 20% of sales and its own-brand products for 70%. It spends a fifth of sales on marketing. This year, it will launch production of nutritional supplements near Košice and increase the storage area by 3,600 sqm to 14,000 sqm. In 2024, it plans on €100m revenues.
