InoBat raised €100m from investors
InoBat (Marián Boček), which plans to produce batteries for electric sports cars and aircraft, has raised €100m from investors. These include Gotion, Amara Raja, Rio Tinto, Lilium, Bromo Capital, IPM and Cielo Capital. A key investor is China's Gotion, with whom InoBat has a joint venture planning to invest €1.2bn in a factory in Šurany. In the previous two investment rounds, the state also invested, with the Slovak Investment Holding providing €12m. InoBat launched a test production in Voderady this spring. In addition to its Voderady facility, InoBat is looking to build a battery gigafactory and recycling center in Serbia, where a large lithium deposit is located. It faces massive protests by locals.
