The insurance sector managed to improve its after-tax profit 8% to €197.7m last year, mainly thanks to lower indemnities in motor insurance, data from the insurers’ association Slaspo show. Slovaks drove less during the pandemic. Total indemnities were down 8% to €1.3bn. The insurers’ gross underwritten premiums were down 2% annually to €2.5bn.
