Metal parts maker PPS Group had record year
Metal parts maker PPS Group (Daniel Futej) tripled its net profit to €5.9m last year and its sales soared 45% to €86.4m. In 2014-19 it lost €5.6m and at the onset of the pandemic, it feared loss of orders and mass redundancies. Then, though, it won new contracts from Western European firms that had previously bought components for mining and construction machinery from Asia and Ukraine. Before the pandemic, it had 740 employees, now it has 700, plus 300 sole traders and agency workers. Up to 90% of sales come from Sweden and Germany.
