Metinvest again interested in U.S. Steel Košice

U.S. Steel is still evaluating unsolicited offers to buy all or part of the company, with Cleveland-Cliffs, Esmark, ArcelorMittal, and Stelco among the suitors. Sme daily sources saw a large delegation from Metinvest, of the richest Ukrainian, Rinat Akhmetov, recently visiting U.S. Steel Košice, apparently to conduct due diligence. Metinvest is the largest supplier of iron ore to the Košice mill. Many of Akhmetov's steel assets in Ukraine have been damaged by the war.
