Employers and labor unions agreed to increase the minimum wage by 8% (€54) to €700 from January 2023. Co-payments for night and weekend work remain frozen at the current level and the social partners will negotiate their increase. By law, the minimum wage was to increase to 57% of the 2021 average wage, i.e. €691. Companies, though, decided to compensate workers for high inflation.
