O2 overtook Slovak Telekom in the number of mobile telephony clients
O2 overtook Slovak Telekom for the first time in June in the number of mobile telephony clients. O2 entered the market in 2007 and since then its client base has risen to 2.31m, while Slovak Telekom’s stands at 2.141m (both figures are based on 3-month activity). Orange is still market leader with almost 2.5m clients. 4ka had 590,000 clients at the end of April. Together with Tesco, O2 also runs Tesco Mobile and has its own digital brand, Radosť. Slovak Telekom explained that it lost a large business client with 200,000 SIM cards and is still No.2 in the lucrative post-paid segment.
