SaS will “under no circumstances” agree to tax hikes, emphasized its leader Richard Sulík. He explained that the government pledged in its manifesto not to increase the tax and payroll levy burden. He therefore wants to insert into the constitutional Fiscal Responsibility Act the so-called tax brake, a pledge not to increase taxes. OĽaNO rejects the idea and wants the Act only to implement changes to the public debt rules and other technicalities. Sulík says OĽaNO aims to increase VAT to 25% and multiply real estate tax rates.
