OĽaNO wants stakes in Dôvera and Union health insurers
OĽaNO proposed helping health insurers via increases in their share capital. It aims to increase the capital of state-owned VšZP by €300m and of private insurers Dôvera and Union by tens of millions. This would mean acquiring a majority stake in both of them. Unofficially, Union has already turned the offer down. Penta is also waiting for business as usual; i.e., the state to provide additional funding with no strings attached. It is encouraged by Economy Minister Richard Sulík (SaS), who rejected OĽaNO’s proposal last week. Both parties are now discussing the issue and help for healthcare must wait.
