Property prices in regional capitals rose 12% last year to €2,943 per sqm
Average prices of apartments in regional capitals rose 12% annually last year to a year-end €2,943 per sqm, data from realtors union RÚ show. They already top the previous high of €2,902 from September 2022. New apartment prices grew more, while the prices of old units are still below 2022. RÚ explains rising prices by employment and wage growth and a decline in mortgage rates. Towards the end of the year, demand was also stimulated by the VAT increase from January. This year, RÚ expects prices to continue rising, due in part to limited supply.
