Slovak economy slowed to 1.1% annual growth in the third quarter
The statistics office ŠÚ confirmed its flash estimate that the Slovak economy slowed to 1.1% annual growth in the third quarter. Despite the economic slowdown in Western Europe, the growth was driven by automotive exports, while investment also grew slightly. Household consumption fell for the third consecutive quarter. A spurt in spending EU funds will support growth in the final quarter. For the whole of this year, the economy will grow at just over 1% and next year the pace will accelerate only slightly, thanks to rising domestic consumption.
