Slovakia, together with Serbia and Bulgaria, is among the most pro-Russia countries in Central Europe and Balkans, a Globsec survey shows. As many as 42% of Slovaks see Russia as the country’s most important strategic partner (47% in the 65+ age group and 29% in the 18-24 group) and 20% as a threat. Just 29% of Slovaks see Slovakia as part of the West, the same share as in Czechia, and 11% as part of the East. Most of the population choose the in-between position.
