Slovakia was the 4th-poorest country in the EU last year
Slovakia was the 4th-poorest country in the EU (in terms of GDP per capita) or 6th-poorest (in terms of actual individual consumption, a measure of material welfare) last year, according to revised Eurostat data on purchasing power parities (PPP). Among countries with GDP per capita below the EU’s average, only Slovakia and Greece saw their share of EU average fall in the past decade.
