Slovenské elektrárne posted a record €216.9m loss last year
Slovenské elektrárne posted a record €216.9m loss last year despite 78% growth in sales to €4.967bn. As it did not produce enough electricity last year due to outages at hydro and coal-fired power plants and a delay in the launch of the third Mochovce nuclear power plant bloc, it had to buy power for its clients expensively on the market. A memorandum with the state, under which SE supplies cheap electricity to households, is also hurting the bottom line. This year, SE is expecting a profit.
