Tax authority FS demands 20% discounts in existing IT contracts

The new management of tax authority FS and the Finance Ministry is opening existing IT contracts and demanding at least 20% discounts, says Vladimír Bednár, head of the ministry’s IT department. FS's annual IT budget comes to €80m. The contracts of Allexis (Michal Suchoba) have been the most overpriced, but Bednár is demanding discounts from other suppliers such as SAP, Oracle, DXC, Ditec, Asseco, and Slovak Telekom, as well. Some contracts are being terminated, and FS will provide the services inhouse. An unspecified foreign IT company unsuccessfully called in its country ambassador to Slovakia to lobby against a change in its contract.
