Tensions in ruling coalition rising
Andrej Danko, leader of the SNS party which often hovers below the 5% threshold to enter parliament in polls, criticized all the ministers from his coalition partner Hlas over the weekend. Hlas health minister, Zuzana Dolinková, was also criticized by Smer leader Robert Fico. Head of Hlas, Matúš Šutaj Eštok, accused Danko of undermining the stability of the ruling coalition. Tensions in the coalition appear to be rising because of unpopular tax hikes that the coalition must implement to bring budget deficits under control.
