Third of Slovak workers have experienced some form of bullying
Some 30% of Slovak workers have experienced some form of bullying, nearly half of them first-hand, according to a survey by staffing agency Grafton. These were mainly employees in business services, sales, and marketing. The most common (63%) were constant criticism, insults, and ridicule. Only 3% of employees experienced physical violence and 6% sexual abuse. The majority of those bullied dealt with the situation by changing employers. Only 20% went to a supervisor and only 9% reported the problem to the HR department.
As of July 1, a Whistleblower Protection Act revision improves protections against employer retaliation.
