Trabelssie and Šufliarsky acquired OC Optima Košice
George Trabelssie, whom media link to Ján Slota, and Marián Šufliarsky, who sold CBA retailer in 2017, in summer paid €118m to acquire OC Optima Košice, the largest shopping center outside Bratislava. The 49,000 sqm center was built in 2002 by Czech and Danish investors and later sold to Dutch Atrium. In 2015-21, the center was never profitable and lost €23m on annual sales of €11.5m. Trabelssie also owns the Mirage shopping center in Žilina and former Tesco centers in Bratislava, Žilina and Nitra. Šufliarsky's M-Market owns a chain of smaller shopping centers throughout Slovakia, as well as the Zlaté Piesky Shopping Palace in Bratislava and the Urban department store in Košice. Both plan further acquisitions.
