Getting permits for wind power projects is still slow, and none of the 24 projects in the pipeline in Slovakia has received a positive environmental impact assessment, the sustainable energy association Sapi reckons. Their installed capacity is 942 MW. Recent changes in legislation that speed up the EIA process and other permits have renewed investors' confidence that they may get the necessary permits in the end, Sapi adds. Investors hope to have the first projects operational in 2028.
