Juraj Široký, one of the oligarchs-Smer founders, sold his Váhostav construction firm to Czech construction group Geosan (Luděk Kostka). In 2015-19, Váhostav’s sales fell from €194m to €74m. Geosan has annual sales of €140m. In recent years, Široký has sold his 50% stake in Dôvera health insurer, IT firm bit-Studio, most of plastics maker Plastika Nitra, the Slovan Bratislava ice hockey club, and the Hotel Bellevue in the High Tatras. He still owns Pharos, which develops land near the Bratislava airport, and paints maker Chemolak Smolenice. It seems Chemolak is for sale too.
