Žilina car plant Kia had good first half

Žilina car plant Kia made 164,300 cars and 230,000 engines in the first half (180,200 cars and 222,000 engines in 1H19). This year, it plans to produce 306,000 cars, roughly on par with 2021. It has been able to replace the Russian market that used to account for over a tenth of sales. Of the four Slovak car plants, it coped best with chip shortages. Investments should come to €57m this year. This week, the plant launched the production of face-lifted crossover model Kia XCeed.
